I won’t bore you with the details of the weekly grocery shopping, but, as usual it involved Whole Foods, banana boxes, Casco Bay Lines, and our kind Resident Assistant, Mark. The larder is restocked!
As a bonus, I also visited Walgreens and Trader Joe’s. All three of these retail establishments are close by in Portland. At Trader Joe’s, I purchased some croissants!
At Walgreens, I got HOSTESS CLASSIC WHITE BREAD! Of all places. White bread at Walgreens. Ok. I will level with you. Whole Foods tends to be a bit much on the healthy side of things for me. I have been craving plain, white, unhealthy bread! REFINED CARBOHYDRATES! Woo hoo!!! No sprouts, grains, germs, or sawdust for me; thank you very much. Just. Plain. White. Bread. I am going to make PB&J and French Toast with this loaf! It has been quite a while since I have had plain white bread. I am in heaven!
As you might imagine, there was a trip to Goodwill made in conjunction with the provision run. Emma, my trusty Labrador companion, and I went back to the Goodwill in Falmouth today since I had another errand to do there locally. I scored a lovely vintage teapot for $3.
I love teapots! Can’t have enough, in my opinion. We make a pot of tea daily around here (more in the summer) as unsweetened iced tea is our beverage of choice. After the morning round of coffee, of course. We are equal opportunity caffeine consumers!
I also purchased the four white starfish seen on the bottom shelf of the hutch in the photo above. They were $2 for all four. I might relocate them to elsewhere in the abode. Not sure.
I do know in the spring I will be gluing these starfish onto my golf cart, when I undertake the most epic art project ever and convert my plain, old, ordinary golf cart to a seashell embellished art golf cart!
