While I was thrifting with Jane last week in southern Maryland, I hit the Lenox jackpot at the thrift store in Solomons, MD! My mom has a Lenox problem, I mean, collection. Actually, she has two Lenox collections. One in Massachusetts and one in Florida. I snagged several pieces which had come from an estate sale on Staten Island, NY for her:
Mom tells me she had seen the larger platter for $125 in an antique store. I bought it for a whole lot less! I brought these lovelies to the UPS store in Maryland and had them shipped to Mom in Florida. An early Christmas!
At Whole Foods this week, I found this beautiful lavender Christmas tree:
The beginning of my Christmas decorating!
Dinner tonight. A Dutch Baby filled with Maine wild blueberries:
I use Martha Stewart’s recipe and add blueberries. The batter gets whipped up in the blender and then cooked in a cast iron skillet in the oven. Deliciousness.
Finally, a photo of Emma and Etta on the beach from last week:
Yours, Merryweather
