Our house is off the market. As I mentioned previously, I fired our third real estate agent last month. Selling our house has now become a full scale “ordeal”. The dining room is pictured above.

This week I interviewed another real estate agent. I received a letter from his brokerage noting that our listing had expired and asking if I still wanted to sell the house. I appreciated the proactive approach. And that is where the appreciation ends.

He is a tool. Plain and simple. I can’t imagine working with his ego.

Last month I interviewed four real estate agents on the same day. I had cleaned and prepped the house and scheduled a ten, noon, two and four o’clock appointment. It was exhausting. I won’t do that again. Two agents stood out, one was argumentative, and one was just barely breathing.

One of the two that stood out has since fallen off the face of the earth. I asked him to please send me a listing agreement. A month ago. Still haven’t gotten it. So unless some great new leads on highly successful agents turn up, I am left with the one agent almost by default. She seems competent, but my track record picking real estate agents has me questioning my judgment.

On the other hand, there is a remote possibility that I may not want to sell the house afterall. In March darling daughter submitted a transfer application to a large university about an hour and a half from home. If she is accepted and transfers, I will stay put for the time being. Darling daughter got her grades from this past semester the other day: a perfect 4.0!!! Her cumulative GPA is now 3.96. Not too bad! Whether she transfers schools or not, right now she is killing it.

Darling daughter and I went to the auction tonight with some friends. It was a complete bust. Not even any blueberry pie to be had at the snack bar. We didn’t hang out long, but came home. Darling daughter is reading Tina Fey’s “Bossypants” out loud to me. I can’t read at night. Bifocals just not working. The book is hysterical. I recommend it.

Yours, Merryweather
